Lia Rochas-Páris was born in Paris, where she lives and works.
Graduate in Aesthetic of arts, design, and digital arts, Lia Rochas-Páris is an artist, author, poet, and curator. She sees everything as a collage, blending images and texts to bring forth new narratives across various media: assemblages, photography, video, poetic writing, photo novels, publications, and installations.
Lia considers each resource as a piece of a puzzle. She explores materials she regards as the vestiges of an era, with the intention of archiving memory and developing a personal archaeology.
She probes fullness and emptiness, highlights both visible and hidden sides, and emphasizes Ma — the space in between — as the manifestation of a surreal visual narrative open to multiple interpretations.
Her art work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Arles, Geneva, Osaka, New York...
She has also exhibited at fairs such as Les Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles, Paris Design Week, PAD Paris, and Art Brussels.
Alongside her artistic practice, Lia initiates and develops curatorial and editorial projects such as Shelves Project, Parties Prises Studio, and Comme Un Roman-Photo. Over the past decade, with recognized expertise in artistic and editorial direction, she has established herself as a sought-after collaborator, working with leading figures in art, decoration, luxury, fashion, and publishing.
Describing herself as “INCASABLE” (a uniquely French, almost untranslatable term meaning unclassifiable or impossible to categorize), Lia Rochas-Páris positions her practice at the intersection of art, writing, and curation.
